About Mark Dammer
A traditional CV would show me as
coming from a rational, scientific background. I have a degree in
marine biology and working with computers and developing
electronic circuits, hard- and software has always been a part of
my life.
But if I take a closer look at my life I can
recount situations where things happened, that in our everyday
life or "consensus reality" would be seen as
"anomalies". I think I am not on my own here and a
closer look would reveal similar experiences in almost everybody's
life. This goes all the way through my life from childhood until
now. These experiences that could be named extrasensory
perception, telepathy, telekinesis or altered states of
consciousness always brought me back to my big question:
What is Reality ?
I always felt drawn to bring these two aspects of my life,
let me call them the "Re-searcher" and my experiences
together. To have a look at areas where the objective and the
subjective, experiment and experience, the seen and the unseen
worlds meet. This is why the research described on this website
together with spiritual practice in the forms of meditation, buddhist practices,
shamanic journeying and spending time in nature form an essential
part of my life.
Major subjects of my re-search are (in the
order of appearance in my life):
- Plant experiments similar to
the experiments of Cleve Backster described in the book "The
Secret life of Plants".
- Experiments with Biophoton
Radiation. Mainly enjoying creating images and videos with
image intensifiers.
- How does our state of consciousness –
both as an individual and as a collective has an influence on the
environment.
- Investigating the influence of (collective)
spiritual practice on a Random Event Generator (REG).
- Finding
applications for the "mind over matter" effects observed
in the REG experiments.
My main goal for doing this research shifted over the years
from a simple "I want to know" to an attitude of service
and the wish to apply the results for the benefit of the whole.
Currently Katharina, me and out cat "Tigger" are living in a small community in the Findhorn
area in Scotland. I am working as an IT freelancer offering consultancy services and support for organizations like the Findhorn Foundation . My main working areas are networking, Voice over IP and the development of online conferencing and broadcasting solutions. I am currently developing an online videoconferencing system based on Flash and the free open source "Red 5" Flash server.
It is a wonderful experience to live in a rural area, but to work on a globel level as well. I have been supporting the Gaiafield Project with my IT skills for several years now and I enjoy my work as the Technical Director for the live event of WiseUSA 08 .
