The book "The Secret Life of Plants" written by Peter Tompkins and
Christopher Bird is still a major source of inspiration for me. I am
specially interested in the experiments of Cleve Backster who connected
a polygraph ("lie detector") to plants and recorded their reactions to
the environment. This method made it even possible to show how plants
do react on peoples thoughts and their emotional state.
My Equipment
Cleve Backster used his polygraphs to record changes in the electrical
resistance of the plant leaves. I have developed a data logger
that is based on a Parallax Basic-Stamp microcontroller. All important
properties like input resistance (impedance), offset correction and
amplification are fully software programmable. The data are transferred
to a computer via a serial communication port. I am using the
scientific software package "Scilab" for data analysis and
visualisation. Scilab can be downloaded for free from www.scilab.org.
As I am using the data logger for various purposes I will publish details with schematics and software soon.
I am very grateful for the support I got from Sandra Ingerman and her
workshop participants. Sandra Ingerman is a shamanic teacher and healer
from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her work is specially dedicated to healing
the planet and ourselves through transmuting and transforming difficult
energies on all levels.
For more information about Sandra Ingerman's work, please visit her
website: http://www.shamanicvisions.com/ingerman.html
We did a couple of experiments that were included in her workshops.
